In 1957 Bob Younkin started Younkin Aviation Inc on Razorback Airport in Fayetteville Arkansas.  Bob was a crop duster from the Memphis area.  They would build engines and airplanes and sell them.  In 1970 Kenneth Miller went to work for Bob, that is when it all took off on building the Best R-1340 & R-985  Pratt & Whitney Engines.  Younkin Aviation has supplied Air Tractor, Thrush, Ag Cat, with new rebuild engines for new crop duster airplanes for many years.  We Raced at the Reno Air Races with Jack Frost in 1998-2000 when he set all the speed records that could be broken at the time.  We also build 1340 & 985 Pratt & Whitney Snap Cap early production Wasp and Wasp JR engines dating Patents of GE from 1907-1933 that were installed on a Boeing 100 from World War I and other airplanes as well.

We pride our selfs on building the best 1340 & 985 Pratt & Whitney engines.  We offer a full in house machine shop for all the work done rebuilding these R-1340 & R-985 Engines

We are internationally recognized In our Quality of overhaul of R-985 and R-1340 Pratty & Whitney Engines  for Antique Airplanes, T-6 AeroShell Aerobatic Team, Air-Tractor  Ag Cat  Thrush Crop Dusters,  Twin Beach, and The Fastest Race T-6 Engines in the world with Speeds over 268 MPH, with approvals from the FAA.

We are the Oldest certified FAA Repair Station in the world for R-985 & R1340 Pratt & Whitney Engines.  We have one of the best inventory of R-985 and R-1340 engines and parts in the world. We are the Original Radial Engine Overhaul Shop, our mechanics are second to none in regards to quality Ken has Received " The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for over 50 Years of Aviation Safety and Maintenane from the FAA in 2017.  We strive to use the highest in quality of parts, original Pratt & Whitney New surplus parts or New PMA-FAA Parts.  All Parts are always rechecked for quality.  We want to be your One-Stop Shop for all your R-985 & R-1340 needs from trouble shooting problems to building the best dependable engine. We also have Mechanical Engineers in house to help us build/ make new PMA-FAA parts .
